Verify that your daily file read routine is working correctly 
by writing out the mingmt, windspd, winddir, scatflag, radrain, and sosmap

the bottom left of the red rectangle.

The time is minute of day GMT (mingmt) and has 
valid values between 0 and 1440 (0 - 250 binary
value * 6. scale factor).  A time value greater than 
1440 is representative of bad or missing data.  
A time value of 1530 is land.
All read routines default missing or bad data to -999.0 
and land to -555.0
